Use the Xbox 360 RF module to connect wireless controllers to your PC. The RF board from a dead 360 becomes a native wireless receiver ā no Microsoft dongle needed.
Requirements
- Xbox 360 RF module (salvaged from any phat/slim console)
- PIC12F629 microcontroller (handles the sync button logic)
- USB cable (any sacrificial cable with a Type-A end)
How To
- Flash the PIC12F629 with the HEX file from the download below and wire everything per the install image.
- Plug the module into your PC ā Windows picks it up with the standard Xbox 360 Wireless Receiver driver.
- Press the push-button power and wait about 20 seconds.
- When all the LEDs are lit you can press the sync button to pair (re-sync) your controller, just like on a console.
Tip
If Windows doesn't detect controllers after pairing, install the official "Xbox 360 Wireless Receiver for Windows" driver from Device Manager (pick it manually under Microsoft ā Xbox 360 peripherals). One RF module supports up to 4 controllers plus chatpads and headsets.
