RGH2+ install on Slim Corona v3āv6 (Winbond RAM) consoles with the CR4 XL ā wiring, flashing and setup, with latest-dashboard support.
RGH2+ install guide for Slim Corona v3āv6 consoles (the versions with the special Winbond RAM) using the CR4 XL. You can have the absolute latest dashboard version installed if you wish.
This covers all versions with the special Winbond RAM. The last version Corona is v6 ā the next new 360 is the Winchester (not covered here). There is no Corona v7.

(This is what I use myself in my own personal installs)
The CR4 XL board comes with wires and tuning caps (10pf, 22pf, 30pf, 47pf, 68pf, 82pf, 100pf ā not always necessary but included for those who like to fine-tune). I like the double shielded pro cables Xecuter makes because they give a perfectly grounded line for a guaranteed clean wave.
CR4 XL is as basic as it gets. We took the results of CR3 PRO/SLIM PROTO, fine-tuned them to the nth degree, and made the install and setup as simple as possible. There's very little for you to do.

This gives dead-center timings for Corona. Feel free to set DIP 3 to OFF and/or add a cap for maximum performance. You really can't go wrong ā it's a solid setup.

These fine-tune the resistor on Postbit. The jumper should be set to 0 ohms by default. In a very few instances a 10-ohm or 100-ohm resistor was required to shape a perfect wave.
This is the QSB kit for Corona installs. The CR4 XL code was designed and tuned with these installed and is highly recommended for a perfect install. They also include all the necessary connectors for NAND-X, JR-Programmer, USB COMMS cable, RATER, etc.

Above I added a tuning cap just to show where it sits, but it didn't really need one (the cap legs should be cut short, sitting as close to the board as possible ā this was for visuals only). You can add an extra wire to K for RATER auto-reset support (KIOSK). Extra pads: ROL is for the Ring of Light LED mod, CR_EN is for the DemoN CoolRunner enable/disable mod.

Solder the yellow wire (C ā Postbit) to the #5 CM solder pad. There's no need to use the other solder pads ā wire lengths aren't important anymore. Just keep things neat.

Flip the board. We tested all the CPU_RST points ā C5R11 consistently gave the best results with CR4, especially with the Xecuter Double Shielded Pro cable or the IPEX CPU_RST cable. The IPEX cable is especially neat and tidy.

If you want permanent external access to the NAND, hook up the QSB EXT V3 adapter.

This is still required to use RATER.

On the Winbond-RAM Coronas, use the Postfix Adapter to read the CB and confirm your console type before glitching. Dump the NAND twice and compare in J-Runner before writing. If boot times are slow or inconsistent, try one tuning cap at a time rather than stacking changes.
